Things are going great at ´The Darjeeling´. As the name might suggest it was originally a tea-bar, but has now matured to a regular café/diner. In spite of this I have taken a crash-course in Tea-knowledge (!) So, dear diary, here´s a quick summary of what I have learned ; All tea comes from the "Camellia sinensis", an evergreen shrub that may grow up to 60 feet in the wild. When cultivated they are kept at a height of about three feet. There are more than 3000 varieties of tea, each with it´s own charcteristic. The naming and growing of teas has many similarities to wine. Just as Bordeaux wine is named after the Bordeaux region in France, Assam is named after the Assam region in India, and Keemun is named after the Keemun region of China. Like wine, tea comes from one bush, and where the tea is grown, the climate, soil conditions, and how the tea is processed, determines the flavor characteristics of the tea. There are basically four types of tea. Black, Green, Oolong and White.
Black tea is withered, fully oxidized and dried. Black tea yields a hearty, amber-colored brew. Some of the popular black teas include English Breakfast, and Darjeeling.
Green tea skips the oxidizing step. It is simply withered and then dried. It has a more delicate taste and is pale green / golden in color.
Oolong tea, popular in China, is withered, partially oxidized, and dried. Oolong is a cross between black and green tea in color and taste.
White tea is the least processed. A very rare tea from China, White tea is not oxidized or rolled, but simply withered and dried by steaming.
Well, that´s enough about tea for now.
Large Clive is now a member of our household, and that has lead to some changes. It is now always plenty of beverage in the fridge. Theres always two stacks of Coke in cans, and a stack of Gerolsteiner beer. LC claims this is a deal he has with a client( Large Clive sells training equipment...)but I know Christine thinks it is something criminal. Me, I didn´t care until the other night, when he brought home 7 different car stereos and stuffed them in the closet opposite to where I sleep. When LC asked me to not to mention that for Christine, " ...she tends to be so snooty", I knew something was wrong. Maybe I could ask Louigi if I could live at his place ? I am seeing him on friday. Maybe I can´t ask him then.
Regarding Lisa, dear diary, I am now sure (quite), that I don´t love her. I only lust her. She makes my hormons unstable, but I kind of like it...
